Bad karma or bad luck?

As I posted yesterday, I woke up yesterday to find my backdoor open. I thought that would be the end of my eventful day, but as it progressed, it only proceeded to get worse. Much worse. After dealing with the door thing, I went upstairs and to grab the dogs and try to prevent them from waking up the rest of my family. As I was walking back down, I slipped and fell down the stairs, twisting my knee and making quite a loud thud on my way down. Luckily my blunder did not wake any of my family members up and my dogs stayed by my side until I recovered and could get up again. Hobbling along, I went and finished my first cup of coffee outside in peace and a little bit of pain.

We had some errands to run, so we loaded up the dogs, our neighbors daughter and Lili and took a trip to the local pet store to get Roxy a bigger crate and a comfy bed. My dogs did very well but my three year old did not. She screamed and cried the entire time because Morgan was walking Max (one of the two dogs) and she wanted to walk him. Even after she got a turn she was still unhappy which irritated my husband, who was already irritated, and a bad situation got progressively worse. When we got home, it was rather relaxing with the exception of Lili's temper and bad attitude. She has entered the "I don't want to listen to anyone about anything" phase and is reeking havoc on everyone around her.

My husband and I were bickering at each other causing even more stress, and I knew that we were going to end up in a fight. We never fight. Well, we rarely fight. If we do it is for something stupid like burnt bread or garden plans. He went inside to relax and my neighbor and fabulous friend Jen and I were outside talking with the girls playing in the yard. My sister called, or I called her, and we were talking about her upcoming wedding. It was pretty relaxing, being around the patio table, searching the web with my glowing fruit and enjoying the beautiful day. Then a slight, and I mean slight breeze came and tweaked my umbrella ever so gently pulling it to the side and creating pressure on the hole in the center of the table. In a split second, the umbrella leaned to the side, the table let out a SNAP! and the entire rectangular glass top shattered ontop of my legs. My laptop came crashing down in a heap of glass, the girls were standing in the glass and I was throwing my phone down saying, "SHIT!"

Luckily, Jen came running up the steps of the deck and grabbed the girls as I was covered in glass, stunned from what had just happened and my husband ran out of the house upon hearing the crash from outside. Morgan had a scratch or two on her foot and Lili was completely unscathed. I was so relieved that the girls were fine, although they were scared, their injuries could have been so much worse. I looked down to see several shards of glass embedded in my toes and in between them and my big toe is likely broken, but for the most part, I was also fine. My laptop was pretty banged up but mostly cosmetic, thankfully. The glass was everywhere. It took all three of us the better part of an hour just to get the bigger piles cleaned up. There is still quite a bit of glass left in the cracks in the deck that we cannot get out, but that will have to wait until we have the proper tools, like a shop-vac.

The day actually got worse, believe it or not! My husband and my son got into a fight, which led to my husband and I getting into a fight. By seven o'clock I was ready for the day to be over and to forget about it completely! I never like to leave anything unresolved, so my husband and I worked out the issue and came up with a plan. He and my son fixed their issue as well. But my table is still broken, there is still glass in my deck and Lili is still a pain. But I woke up this morning and my backdoor was closed. Hopefully it means that it is going to be a better day.
